Nancy Diane Metcalf Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Nancy Diane Metcalf of Montello, Wisconsin. Nancy, born on April 21, 1931, passed away on October 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gessner and Merle Gessner (Burgett); her child Hunk; her close friend Mike Reavis; her son Jay Wegenke; her son-in-law Jon Sheller; her grandson Rob Schultz; her great grandchild Maxwell Stalker; her brother Dick Gessner; and her brother-in-law Rudolf Matzke.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Schultz (Jim) of Stevens Point, Jean Sheller of Montello and Mark Wegenke (Patti) of Montello; her daughter-in-law Dayna Wegenke of Montello; her stepdaughters, Kathy Regez (Bob) of Madison, Maureen Connors (Shawn) of Mt. Horeb, Patty Rust (John) of McFarland and Susanne Duffy (Matt) of Stoughton; her siblings, Avis Matzke and Jim Tipton; and her sister-in-law Nook Gessner. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (313 E Montello St, Montello, WI 53949). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Diane's name.
