He was predeceased by : his parents, Ira Prouty and Dorothy Prouty (Colby); and his sister Joan Backoff. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Celing; his former life partner Judy Maitland; his children, Richard (Sarah) of Wilmette, IL, Gwendolyn Morris (Steven) of Mundelein, IL and Elizabeth Thompson (Stephen) of Chicago, IL.; his grandchildren, Ryan, Phoebe, Ben, Jillian, Sebastian and Anabel; and his brother Robert (Lana).
