He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Kubly and Orpha Kubly; his sisters, Nancy Brecklin (William) and Karen Hogan (William); his stepfathers, Herman Schlittler and Clarence Wendler; and his parents-in-law, Wilbert and Lucile Elmer.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Elmer; his children, Iban Kubly of Monticello, Ireck Kubly (Lisa) of Big Lake, MN and Justine Schmocker (Clint) of McFarland, WI.; his grandchildren, Traeton (Ivy), Creed, Eden, Rafe Kubly, Kian and Taye Schmocker; his great grandchildren, Kaiser and Saskia Kubly; his sister-in-law Kathy Clewis; and his stepbrother John Wendler (Jeri). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Monticello Fire and Rescue or Zwingli United Church of Christ.
