She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Helland and Joyce Helland (Disch); and her brother Craig Helland. She is survived by: her siblings, Sheila Helland, Greta Duerst (Dewey) and Philip Helland (Trish); her stepchildren, Valerie Bridges and Leon Bridges; her nephew Tom Duerst; and her niece Teresa Duerst. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She also knitted dish rags for the Mount Horeb Senior Center, donating over one hundred over the holidays.
