He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Mueller and Grace Mae Mueller (Brattlie); his parents-in-law, Carlton and Selma Rieman; his stepmother Palma Mueller; and his brother Gregory Mueller.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Mueller (Rieman); his children, Kristin Sveum (Mark), Kim Van Offeren (Andy) and Karl Mueller (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Cody Sveum, Jayden, Landen Van Offeren, Adelynn, Piper and Payton Mueller; his sister Susan Huntington (Wayne); his sister-in-law Terri Mueller; and his nephew Brett. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
