He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Fonfara and Amey Fonfara (Lehmann); and his brothers-in-law, James Axtell, Amey Fonfara (Lehmann) and Jerome.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Fonfara of Mt. Pleasant; his son Karl Langenstroer (Kayla) of Madison; his sister Barbara Axtell of Greensboro, NC; his niece Jamie Axtell of Greensboro, NC; and his caregiver Tina.
