Carol J. Vogds Obituary
Carol Jean Vogds, our beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by the family she so fiercely loved and who, in return, adored her beyond words. Born January 12, 1946, Carol was the kind of woman who could light up a room with both her smile and her wit—often at the same time.
She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel Vogds, her partner in love, laughter, and life's adventures. Together, they raised three wonderful sons—Weston (Brenda), Derek (Amber), and Tyler (Michelle)—in Slinger, Wisconsin, where their home was always filled with the sounds of family, friends, and more than a few good-natured debates at the kitchen table. Carol's deep love for her family was rivaled only by her ability to stand her ground—and let's be honest, she was usually right.
Carol was a savvy businesswoman and a shining example of grace in hard work. She proudly owned and operated Carma Jewelers in Hartford and Fox Point for many years, helping generations of families celebrate life's biggest moments with the perfect sparkle.
Her greatest treasures, though, weren't kept in glass cases but at the family table. Carol's grandchildren—Braeden, Sullivan, Sawyer, Jace, Layla, Harlow, and Colette—were the lights of her life. Each one brought her immense joy, and she delighted in cheering them on, spoiling them a little, and reminding them (often with a laugh) that Grandma always knows best.
She was equal parts elegance and humor—never afraid to tell it like it was, always with a wink and a smile. Carol lived with generosity, style, and just enough sass, reminding us all that life is too short not to laugh, love big, and wear good jewelry. She leaves behind her sons and daughters-in-law, her cherished grandchildren, and countless friends whose lives she brightened with warmth and wit. Her family finds comfort in knowing she and Daniel are reunited, likely laughing together as they watch over the family they built with such devotion.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at St. Johns Ev Lutheran Church (410 W. Veterans Way Mukwonago, WI 53149) visitation at 10:00 AM, Memorial Service begins at 11;00, where we will honor her legacy, share stories, and maybe even laugh through a few tears—just the way she would have wanted.
