Donald G. Herron Obituary
Of Vernon, WI, was called home by his Lord and Savior on May 24, 2025 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife Diane L. Herron (nee Craig) of 37 years. Loving father of David (KarenLee) Herron of Bahama, NC., Debra Villa of Franklin, WI., Michael Herron of Bay City, MI; stepfather of Lisa Dominquez of Watertown, WI., Ryan (Laura) Foat of Wauwatosa, WI., Barrett (Casey) Foat of Ballwin MO., Reuben (Dhamee) Foat of Long Beach, CA., and Orlin (Rebecca) Foat of Gleason, WI. Proud grandfather of Drew (Aimee) Herron, Brittney (John Tatum) Herron, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Jessica Rude, Nathan (Jolyn) Villa, Tyler Villa, Damacio and Helio Dominquez, Elena and Maia Foat, Julian and Ashley Foat, Rami Foat, Nora and Evelyn Foat; great grandfather of Odin Herron, Charles Tatum, Edwin and Lorelei Villa. Don is further survived by a brother-in-law Kirby (MaryJo) Lassiter, many nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Donald was preceded by his first wife Edwina Herron (nee Lassiter) in 1980, a daughter Cary Ann Herron-Rudy in 1999 and his parents William (Sadie Ross) Herron.
Donald received his Bachelor's degree of Social Science in 1961, Bachelor's of Divinity in 1965, Master's in 1969 and his PHD in 1970. His working career started as a Sociology Professor from 1967-1970, Pastor of American Baptist Church in Big Bend from 1976-1986, financial rep at Northwestern Mutual Life from 1989-2000. He also started his own company and was CEO and owner of Seafaring Sail of the Great Lakes – Gold Star Dealer from 1984-1992. He retired in 2003 after developing a subdivision in Vernon.
Donald loved his children, and he loved his stepchildren as his own. He found joy spending time with his grandchildren. Donald loved sailing, hiking, and most of all travelling. He was an amazing trip and travel planner that took him and Diane around the world.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Caldwell Methodist Church (8504 Caldwell Rd, Hwy O, Mukwonago) from 9:30 AM until the time of the Service at 12:00 NOON. He will be laid to rest at Caldwell Cemetery at a later date.
