James A. Decker Obituary

James A. Decker of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2026.

Jim was 87 years old and the beloved husband of Audrey (Berg) Decker for 66 years. He was the loving father of Brian (Alice) Decker and Charlene (Steve) Slater; proud grandfather of Matthew and Eric Decker, Devan Knobloch (Kevin Walker), and Alaina Pease (Terry Pardun); and cherished great-grandfather, lovingly known as "PaPa," to Corbin J. Pease.

One of ten children raised on a farm near Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Jim graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve before following his brother, Galen, to Milwaukee to learn the trade of drafting. Throughout his career, he worked for several crane manufacturers, including Allis-Chalmers, P&H, Orley Meyer, and Konecranes, where he retired.

Jim lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to his community. He served through the Knights of Columbus, as a Village of Mukwonago Trustee, and through his church. While he preferred the comforts of home over travel, he found joy in projects, problem-solving, and a job well done.

Jim was a teacher of lessons and values, a master of long stories, and a steady example of hard work, integrity, and dedication. He instilled in his family a strong work ethic and a deep sense of pride in doing things right. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Graveside service is all he requested with his family.
