James Rogowski Obituary

Of Mukwonago, sadly passed away too soon with his family at his side on May 4, 2023 at the age of 62. He is survived by his loving wife Jayne Rogowski (nee Gazinski) of 34 years and two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca. Jim was a loving brother of Denise Kastelic and Alan Rogowski, and brother-in-law of Leslie (Richard) Smith, Jean Baur (Doug Wetmore), and Richard Gazinski. He is also survived by many wonderful relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Betty Rogowski.

Jim, known as "Plummy" to his school friends, grew up in West Allis and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1978. From a very young age, Jim worked at his family-owned business, Regent Die & Tool, until he retired in 2018. Jim married Jayne in 1988 and shortly after they began their family, having Rachel in 1990 and Rebecca in 1991.

Jim was an exceptionally hard-working man and provider for his family. He had a zest for life and a fun (and somewhat sassy) sense of humor. Jim was known for enjoying the simple things in life and was a true lover of nature and the outdoors.

Through the years, Jim had many passions and hobbies that he loved to share with others, such as fishing, camping, going to the races, coin collecting, gardening, and shooting sporting clays. He was an avid hunter, going on many trips around the United States and to Canada, China, Mongolia, and Africa. Jim greatly enjoyed spending time up north at the property he shared with his good friend, Emmett, and at his home in Arizona, where he would spend as much time possible relaxing, puzzling, playing cribbage, and floating in the pool.

Jim was loved, cherished, and admired by many. He had countless friends, and even though life may have taken them in different directions, he still treasured each and every one of them.

In July of 2022, Jim was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. He began treatment and fought hard with exceptional bravery and courage. Despite his health struggles, Jim always kept a positive mindset and rarely complained. After a 10-month battle, Jim passed away surrounded by his wife and daughters. We will miss him every day. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
