Katherine (Williams) Wilson Obituary

Katherine "Kathy" Williams Wilson passed away at home on August 27, 2026, after a fierce battle with cancer. She was a fighter to the end.

She was a kind, caring, inviting, thoughtful, and compassionate person who was dedicated to her family and friends. She gave the constant quiet support that everyone needed and was always ready to greet you with a smile.

Kathy grew up on a dairy farm near Waukesha and married Kemp, a farmer from Mukwonago. She graduated from Waukesha High School, class of 1964, and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She began her teaching career at Oakfield High School and continued at East Troy High School before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Later, and for 19 years, Kathy was the Clerk for the Town of Mukwonago. She was a friend of The First Congregational Church of Mukwonago for many years, a member of the School Section Homemakers Club and, most recently, President of the Mukwonago S.A.G.E.S. group.

4-H is something Kathy was involved with all her life - growing up, she showed cows and exhibited sewing projects at the Waukesha County Fair. Her college years at UW-Madison were spent working in the Extension office and job-shadowing at other counties, eventually becoming a Project Leader and then the General Leader of Phantom Clovers 4-H Club in Mukwonago when her children were members. She was extensively involved in the Waukesha County 4-H Leaders Association and remained active in later years by being an assistant during the Waukesha County Fair judging. Kathy was presented with several awards, including the 4-H Award of the Gold Clover in 2013, which recognized over 40 years of service. She was thrilled that her grandchildren were in 4-H and was proud of all of their accomplishments.

Kathy is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Kemp, their children Rachael, Evander (Tiffany), Johanna, Elias (Elia), and Alexis Wilson, and her grandchildren John, Elissa, Emilia, and Eralia Wilson. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Mary (Dwight) Sattler, brother David (Susan) Williams, sister-in-law Welody Wilson (Mike Edlebeck), brother-in-law Trelen Wilson (Lin Bender), and nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joseph and Marion Williams, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, John and Elfrieda Wilson, and a daughter, Marjorie Jean Wilson.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mukwonago (930 Main St) from 1:00pm-4:00pm, with a service to follow. Private burial will be at Vernon Center Cemetery on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
