Lois E. Duckey Obituary
Lois Elaine Duckey Born 9.5.1926 to Oscar and Laura (Green) Duckey. Passed away 12.31.2023 surrounded by her family in Mukwonago, WI.
Lois graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948. She received her B.A. from the University of WI-Whitewater and earned her M.S. at Kalamazoo, MI College.
Miss Duckey taught English and Spanish at Union Grove High School and later was the Head Librarian, totaling 35 years of teaching.
Lois traveled all over the world, volunteered at local food pantries, read as many books as she could and spent time with her family. She loved baking cookies, always kept up with current affairs and was especially proud of her Little Free Library.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother Laura, father Oscar, her special friend Don Hill, her two sisters Lucelle Foeckler and Joyce Lobdell and her brothers in law Jerry Foeckler and Tom Lobdell, as well as her nephew Tim Lobdell.
She leaves behind her nephew Tom Lobdell, and niece Carole (Foeckler) De Jardin, six great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews whom she was very proud of.
The family of Lois Duckey would like to thank you for coming to celebrate her life. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the First Congregational Church (231 Roberts Dr., Mukwonago) from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Mukwonago Community Library in memory of Lois.
