He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Bernitt and Zillah Bernitt (Prudence); his grandson Corey Gasper; and his great grandchild Juan Corey Cruz. He is survived by: his children, Denise Bishop (Tom), Linda Helgerson (Dale), Dennis "Butch" Bernitt, Jr. (late Robb) and Tammy Gasper (Steve); his grandchildren, Dana, Lissa (Matt), Theresa (Chris), Tiffany (Juan) and Joshua (Amanda); and his great grandchildren, Gavin, Nina, Emma, Makayla, Tyler and Jacob.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Krause Funeral Home (12401 W National Ave, New Berlin, WI 53151). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
