He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ellen Baker (Scharping); his children, Lisa Drost (John Kuehlmann), Mark Baker (Susan) and Susan Gruenberg (Scott); his grandchildren, Cassandra Leonhardt (Dan), Brittany Gruenberg (Josh Frankie), Tyler Gruenberg, Aaron Drost (Hannah), Josh Baker (Katy) and Amber Bender (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Braydon, Reid Leonhardt and Eden Baker; his sister-in-law Joanne Fairchild; and his parents, Joseph Baker and Hazel Baker (Jastrow). He was also cherished by numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
