He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara; his children, Christine Halverson (Marty) and Steven Plahuta (Kari); his grandchildren, Kellie Holz, Ariel Halverson, Anna Meise (Jonas), Ellie Plahuta and Corey Plahuta; his great grandchildren, Lincoln and Oliver; his siblings, Leroy Plahuta (Julie) and Patricia Kirsop (Richard); and his sisters-in-law, Carol Ball and Eileen Yost. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Matthias Catholic Church appreciated.
