He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his son Jeffrey Barnes (late Suzanne); his granddaughters, Amanda (Ryan) and Hannah; his great grandchild William; and his siblings, James Barnes (Ann) and Kathleen Knoedler (Richard). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
