He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Dlapa (McKenzie). He is survived by: his father Rudy Dlapa; his wife Jean; his children, Caitlin Mertens (Jordan), Cortney Perez (Noe), Connor Dlapa and Carter Dlapa; and his grandchildren, Sage Justus Mertens, Iris Noble Mertens, Ember Jubilee Mertens and Jace Perez. He is also survived by other relatives and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve's name are appreciated and may be directed to the family for donation to be made to the Unity Chapel at the VA Medical Center.
