He is survived by: his wife Terri Schmidt; his children, Tom Katers (Samantha Ashley) of Oak Park, IL, Nick Katers (Rachel Workman) and Jackie Katers; his grandchildren, Joe and Goldie; and his siblings, Paul Katers (Doreen), David Katers (Betty), Ellen Cavil (Dave) and Janet Harrig (Wayne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
