He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Beal and Dorothy Beal (Zimmerman); his stepfather Donald Wilhelm; his stepsister Lynn Weissert; his parents-in-law, George and Gladyce Mess, Sr.; his siblings-in-law, George and Jean Mess, Jr.; his niece Bonnie Long (Mess); his great-nieces, Ella Kane and Rodi Erickson (Mess); his great-nephew Derek Mess; Emery King.

He is survived by: his wife Gail; his son Andy (Katie); his grandsons, Alex and Ethan; his brother Gary Beal (Kathy); his brothers-in-law, Gary Mess (Julie) and Glen Mess; and his niece Lisa Mess. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Glarus Fire Station (218 4th Ave, New Glarus, WI 53574).
