The passing of Francis A. Schmitz of New Holstein, Wisconsin, born in Marshfield, Wisconsin leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 25, 2024 at the age of 76. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Leander Schmitz and Angelita Schmitz (Berenz); his brothers, Robert Schmitz and Vernon Schmitz; his parents-in-law, Henry and Laverne Reiss; and his brothers-in-law, Harvey Dietz and Richard Feldman.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Reiss; his daughter Brigette Sonnabend (David) of Brillion; his grandchildren, Parker and Hilary; his great grandchild Tim Schmitz (Jeana) of Fond du Lac; his sister Mary Ann Dietz of New Holstein; his siblings-in-law, Sandy Schmitz of Greendale, Diane Schmitz of New Holstein, Henrietta Feldman of Elkhart Lake, Patty Krupp (Jim) of New Holstein, Tammy Reiss of Kiel, Jerry Reiss (Brenda) of Crivitz, John Reiss (Ruth) of Fond du Lac, Henry Jr. Reiss (Barb) of Elkhart Lake, Jim Reiss (Liz) of Elkhart Lake and Joel Reiss (Bridgette) of Elkhart Lake; his nephew Adam Reiss; and also, Ella and Landon. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:45 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (1724 Madison St, New Holstein, WI 53061). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name.
