He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Soma; and his son Robert Davis. He is survived by: his children, Steve Schmidt (Vicki) and Rita Ekstedt (Charles); his grandchildren, Korynn Schmidt, Jason Trollen, Tera Trollen (John), Chet Ekstedt (Elizabeth), Lisa Trembly (Manny), Sherry Rasmussen (Jeremy), Bryan Davis (Cris) and Rusty Davis (Tamara); his great grandchildren, Ezra, Eva, Jasper, Jared, Alex, Ashley, Brianne, Cheyanne, Sawyer and Jake; and his daughter-in-law Jeannie Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
