Clara Rose Garbisch Obituary
Went home to the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the age of 103. Beloved wife of the late Arthur. Loving stepmother of Paul Garmisch, Linda (Steve) Kelsall, Richard (Laura) Bender and Peter (Elizabeth) Bender. Cherished aunt of Ellen, Charlotte, Theodore, Charles, Linda, Janet, Betty, Mary, Elsbeth, John, Robert, and Mark. Preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Martha, siblings Edwin, Harry, Elsie and Alvin and also her niece Elizabeth.
Clara was known for her steadfast faith that guided her young life at Zion Lutheran Church and later when she worked in the Public Relations Department at Concordia University, River Forest. Clara sang with the Milwaukee A Capella choir in their performances of Handel's Messiah and sang in the halls of Shorehaven. Clara had a special compassion for the poor as shown by her donations. Clara would save money by shopping at thrift stores so she could give more away to those in need. Her meal prayer would end with "and may there be food on every plate". As the family of Clara Garbisch we want to give our deepest and heartfelt Thank You to Shorehaven for their kind and compassionate care for the last 9 years.
Visitation will take place on Saturday November 8th from 10am until time of the Memorial Service at 11am at Shorehaven Senior Living Campus Chapel at 1305 W Wisconsin Ave. in Oconomowoc WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Clara's name can be made to Shorehaven, The Lutheran Hour or a charity of your choice.
Also on Saturday November 15th at 10 am there will be a Memorial service At Peace Lutheran Church in Sussex led by the Rev. Peter Bender; W240 N6145 Maple Ave.
