He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McCue and Elizabeth McCue (Hayes); and his siblings, Paul, Arthur, Walter, Barbara and Donald.

He is survived by: his wife Janet McCue of Oconomowoc; his children, Judith McCue (Ron Brooks) of Oregon, WI, Karen McCue of Waukesha, Joanne, James, Joshua, Benjamin, Zachary, Robert McCue, Jr. of Waukesha and Jodi Jonas (John) of Eagle; his grandchildren, Jared Brill, Stephanie Shea (Patrick), David Brill (Rachael), Paul Cielinski, Claire Watkins (Joshua), Amy Althoff, Patrick Jonas and Eleanor Jonas; and his great grandchildren, Macklin, Everlee, Emma, Penelope, Willow, Sebastian, Sullivan and Delaney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
