She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Peterson and Myrtle Peterson; her foster parents, George Goldsmith and Dusty Goldsmith; her daughter Joyce Hanes (Francis); her son-in-law Jarrod Washington; and her sister Mildred Boyd.

She is survived by: her husband LeRoy Steffenhagen; her sons, Dale Steffenhagen (Brenda) and Danny Steffenhagen; her grandchildren, Cody (Ashton), Heath (Amanda) and Ryan (Anna); and her great grandchildren, Logan, Jacob, Jocelyn, Mia, Halle, Trevor and Payton.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (5716 Main St, Abrams, WI 54101). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
