He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Lovell and Leora Lovell (Breitrick); his wife Dorothy Retzlaff; his brother Darwin Lovell (Eleanor); and his siblings-in-law, Grace Vowels (Joseph), Charles Retzlaff (Phyllis), Lyle Retzlaff (Margaret), Orin Retzlaff (Marian) and Claire Retzlaff (Ruth).
He is survived by: his children, Dean Lovell (Bonnie) and Maxine Neumann (Daniel). He is also survived by four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials are requested to be given to the organ fund at Grace Lutheran Church in Omro, where Merlynn and Dorothy were active members throughout their entire married life.
