He is survived by: his wife Diane Birkenkamp; his sons, David Birkenkamp (Samantha) and Jim Birkenkamp (Tracy); his grandchildren, Evan, Claire, Isaac and Milo Birkenkamp; his sisters, Pat Thomas (Earl) and Janine Hayashi (Al); his special cruising buddies Dolores; and his close friend Ken Harvanek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
