He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Franklin and Irene Rose Schmude (Champeaux); his wife Anna Schmude; his siblings, Doris, Charolette, Sonja, Donna, Jay, Karen and Wayne; his son-in-law Ernest Goodwin Jr.; and his grandson-in-law Jeremy Trampf.

He is survived by: his children, Heike Goodwin, Rose Buhrow (Gib), Carol Magee (Phillip Jr.) and JoRae Milner (Douglas); and his sister Dawn Hammes. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
