He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Clausen and Irene Clausen (Nelson); his granddaughter Kathryn; his wife Kathryn Wright; his adoptive parents, John Sorensen and Veneta Sorensen; his parents-in-law, Woodrow and Carol Wright; and his brothers, Gary Clausen and Marvin "Dean" Mardesen.

He is survived by: his son Karl (Susan) of Rochester; his grandchildren, Sydney of Minneapolis and Kendall; his great grandchild Gwen Schroeder (Tony) of La Crescent; Cameron (Kyrie) of Georgia and Elliott of Milwaukee, Wisconsin..
