He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Rhutasel and Vera Rhutasel (Stone); his son Dan Rhutasel; and his brother Dana Rhutasel. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rhutasel (Smith) of Oregon; his children, Bobbett Shaub (Jeff Shaub) of Stoughton and Neal Rhutasel of Milwaukee; his daughter-in-law Laura Rhutasel of Chippewa Falls; and his grandchildren, Gorden Rhutasel of Illinois, Talia Rhutasel of Michigan, Kathryn Rhutasel of Minnesota and John Rhutasel of Wisconsin.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Hillcrest Bible Church (752 E Netherwood St, Oregon, WI 53575). The military honors was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
