He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Phillis and Dorothy Phillis (Brown); his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Grace Wonrow; and his siblings, Charles, Shirley, Robert, James and Don.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Bartruff; his children, Jeremy (Kathy) of Westfield, Jake of Packwaukee and Jenna McGwin (Nathan) of Centreville, VA; his grandchildren, Grace, Hope, Ayden of Vada, J. J. and Paightyn; his sister-in-law Edna Grimm; and his sibling's children, Roseann Lyon (Gerald) and Charlie Grimm.
