She was predeceased by : her parents, Paul Carlson and Ruth Carlson (Anderson); her spouse Merle Nelson; her stepmother Wilma Carlson; her sister Marilyn Carlson; and her sister-in-law Madelyn Nelson.

She is survived by : her children, Bradley Nelson (Kimberly) of Norway, MI, Kay Mork (Dan) of Rockford, IL, Janine Starcevich (Nick) of Rockford, IL and Lynda Kay (Bud) of Marion, IN; her grandchildren, Michael Nelson of Norway, MI, Stephanie Mitchell (Andrew), Natalie Dixon (David) of Rockford, IL, Rebecca, Emma Mork of Rockford, IL, Dana Kay of Marion, IN, Anthony and Nicole Starcevich of Rockford, IL; her great grandchildren, Elliana and James Dixon; her siblings, Stan Carlson (Mary) and Lynette Rathbone (Don); and her siblings-in-law, Milo Nelson (Joyce), Phillip Nelson (Sandra), Mina Tim, Mildred Nelson, Ruth Harrington (Doug), Caroline Kilgore (Bill) and Beulah Nelson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Northwoods Chapel.
