She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Mertens and Mary Mertens; her grandchildren, Joseph Towler and Kade Towler; her niece Jessica Wisniewski; and her brother-in-law Dave Angrick.
She is survived by: her husband Wade Alters Sr. of Mary's Catholic Church; her children, Wade Alters Jr. (Dana), Alyssa Towler (Paul) and Janel Alters; her grandchildren, Kendall Staszewski and Kroy Towler; and her siblings, Jeanne Witthun (Dennis), Dorie Schwaab (Jeff), Susan Arnold (Thomas), Nancy Kuhnz (Ted), Theresa Angrick and Dan Mertens (Lisa). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Galilee Lutheran Church (N24W26430 Crestview Dr, Pewaukee, WI 53072). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
