He was predeceased by : his parents, Reinhold Pretsch and Lucy Pretsch (Alt); his siblings, Gerald Alt, Joann Drea, Kenneth Pretsch, Leroy Pretsch, Darlene Connors and Duane Pretsch; and his grandson Jaymison Zimmerman.

He is survived by : his children, John Pretsch (Carla) of Plain and Codi Pretsch of Lone Rock; his stepchildren, Tonya, Trent of Baraboo and Jessica of Mankato; and his grandchildren, Jenna, Julie, Joann, Brantlee, Rilynn, Marcus, Katie, Ashley, Kasotas, Daytin, Jayden and Justin.
