She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Meister and Elizabeth Meister (Gruber); her husband John E. Schmitz; her daughter Mary Jill Schmitz; her son-in-law James Penfield; and her siblings, Agnes Estreen, Grace Meudt, Iris Hein, Joan Ring, Betty Jo Lins, Calvin Meister (Bud), Donny Meister, Stanley Meister and John Meister (Jack).
She is survived by : her children, Susan Penfield of Milwaukee, Rebecca Zwettler (Dave) of Plain, Sheila Baryenbruch (Jeff) of Spring Green, Stephanie Krause (Mark) of Nashville, TN, John J. Schmitz of Sauk City, Marty Schmitz of Sauk City, Andrea Schmitz of New Glarus and Douglas Schmitz of Plain; and her brother Harley Meister. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Luke Catholic School in Plain.
