We announce the death of Rita M. Curtis of Platteville, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Vaassen and Florence Vaassen (Tranel); her daughter Cathy Welsch-Lichter; her granddaughter Ashley Arendt; and her sisters, Rose Ann Manders (Norm) and Mary Jane Foht (Gary).
She is survived by: her husband Ralph Curtis; her children, Michael Curtis (Sue) and Kelly Cooley (Ron); her great grandchildren, Eleanor, Vaughn, Lila, Clover and John; and her siblings, Joyce Hoeper (Wallace), Helen Heim (Norm) and Bill Vaassen (Carolyn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ralph & Rita Curtis Scholarship Fund.
