She was predeceased by : her parents, David Buchfink and Ottilie Buchfink (Stark); and her siblings, Jakob, Oskar and Else Stefan.

She is survived by : her husband Herbert Lauf of Pleasant Prairie; her children, Heinz Lauf (Darlene) of Porterfield, WI, Sylvia Hinz (Michael) of Pleasant Prairie and Nelda Carlson (Don) of Alaska; her sister Matilda Gatzhammer of Germany; and her grandchildren, Kyle Lauf (Nichole), Michelle Jurijczuk (Mike), Trent Carlson, Travis Carlson (Jessica) and Jennifer Schulze (Chris). She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
