He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Lauf and Ottilie Lauf (Klass); his wife Anna Buchfink; and his siblings, Leo, Oswald and Frieda.

He is survived by: his children, Heinz Lauf (Darlene) of Marinette and Sylvia Hinz (Michael) of Kenosha. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
