As we bid Gene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Gene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Gilbertson and Violet Gilbertson (Johnson); and his sister Judy Barley. He is survived by: his close friend Peggy; and his children, Tim Gilbertson, Kelly Jimenez (Louis), Shawn Fox (Greg), Randy Smick and Michelle Soules (Dave). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; he is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 2970 Hickory Dr, Plover, WI 54467.
