He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Kannel and Rosella Kannel (Gilles); his sister Virginia; his brother-in-law Bill Webb; and his brothers, Steven, Donald, Marvin and Kenneth (Constance).
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Marie Komro; his children, Linda Barbian (John), Michael Kannel, Kathleen Gangnon (Mike), Jeff Kannel (Naomi), Gary Kannel and Tim Kannel; his grandchildren, Ashe Barbian, Amanda Barbian-Happel (Josh), Phillip Barbian, Jacob Gangnon, Rosalee Kaufmann, Elizabeth Kannel, Peter Kannel, James Kannel and Andrew Kannel; his siblings, Edward Kannel (Marge) and Mary Ellen Nevalainen (Dale); and his sisters-in-law, Jean Kannel and Del Jane Kannel.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (212 Church Rd, Plum City, WI 54761). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
His volunteer roles included calling bingo for the Knights of Columbus, serving on the board of the Catholic school his children attended, counting donations to his parish, serving as a Eucharistic minister and helping with the Knights of Columbus fundraising.
