He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin DeSmidt and Doris DeSmidt (Hartman); his siblings, Wayne DeSmidt and Cindy DeSmidt; his brother-in-law David Becker; and his cousin Glenn DeSmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Voss (Jason), Samantha Robb (Patrick), Shaun DeSmidt (Ashley) and Steven DeSmidt; his grandchildren, Alexander, Layla Voss, Maddie and Patrick Robb; and his siblings, Larry "Wiener" DeSmidt (Paula), Karen Beernink (Wayne) and Charlene "Char" Becker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (387 Cemetery Rd, Kiel, WI 53042). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dale's name.
