He is survived by: his children, Thomas Maas, Timothy Maas, Gregory Maas (Kristine), Brian Pfeifer (Kim), Keith Pfeifer, Kevin Pfeifer (Lori), Michael Pfeifer (Jennifer), Bruce Pfeifer (Theresa) and Matthew Pfeifer (Kelly); his brothers, Ed Maas (Darlene), Roger Maas (Joan), Larry Maas (Carol), Clarence Maas (Linda), David Maas (Sharon), Dale Maas (Gayla) and Ron Wolter (Barbara); and his siblings-in-law, Mark Schuett, Jerry Bauer and Ann. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243 in memory of Ernie.
