Gary D. Wightman Obituary

We announce the death of Gary D. Wightman of Plymouth, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 91. Gary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Wightman and Lois Wightman (Swart); his wife Eileen Wightman; his daughter Lori Wightman; his grandson Matthew Buehler; his sister Bonnie Inskeep; his parents-in-law, Clair and Molly Greig; his sisters, Florence (Bill Sigler) and Diane (Robert Denison); and his siblings-in-law, Dick Garbe, Skip Inskeep, Joel Zimmermann and Marge Richardson.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Chalupsky (Hal) of Mukwonago, WI, John Wightman of Hayward, WI and Dean Wightman (Ellen Sheahan) of Winchester, WI; his grandchildren, Min Yoon, Joelle Zuhlke (James), Virginia Wightman, Joshua, Daniel, Grant Wightman (Kayla Dreikosen), Clay Chalupsky (Frankie) and Cara Chalupsky; his sisters, Gail Zimmermann of Plymouth and Jackie Garbe (Dick) of Howards Grove; his sister-in-law Sue Dulmes (Gary) of Sheboygan Falls; and his niece Shelly Wise (Denison). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (222 N Stafford St, Plymouth, WI 53073). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Gary's name for St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and Winooski Cemetery.
