She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Sponsel and Emma Sponsel (Schulz); and her husband Roger Curtiss. She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Curtiss (Shelly), Glenn Curtiss (Ann), David Curtiss, Mary Merten (Dan) and Ann Curtiss (Brian); her grandchildren, Kevin Curtiss (Samantha) and Elizabeth "Beth" Krug (Jim); her great grandchildren, Luka Curtiss and Sullinger "Sully" James Krug; her stepgrandson Tony Eman (Shannon); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Nolan, Liam and Teigan; her sister Elaine Schauer; her brother-in-law Lee Curtiss (Mary Lou); her parents-in-law, William J. B. and Elizabeth Curtiss; her brother-in-law Glenn Schauer; and her nephews, Scott Curtiss and Michael Curtiss. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Margaret's name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
