She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Metze and Bertha Metze (Pfeiffer); her husband Merlin Schmidt; her granddaughter Amy; her siblings, Mary Kallenberg (Kenneth) and Robert Metze (Eileen); her parents-in-law, Edward and Viola Schmidt; and her brother-in-law Duaine Barthels.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Schmidt (Jeanette), Cindy Kwekkeboom (Kurt) and Mark Schmidt (Therese); her grandsons, Matthew Schmidt (Sarah), Joseph Schmidt (Adrienne), Kenneth Schmidt (Sara), Luke Kwekkeboom (Tracy), Mitchell Schmidt (Ashley), Daniel Schmidt (Crystal) and Edward Schmidt (Jessica); and her sister-in-law Lorraine Barthels. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
