He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Plaza (Hoyle); and his children, Sonia Shoup, Robert Shawn Plaza (Debbie), Stanley Plaza (Sherri), Monica Quintero, Dale Banfe (Marcia) and Andre Plaza (Kelly). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren; his 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Monroe Center Cemetery (402 North St, Monroe Center, IL 61052).
