He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schauer and Marietta Schauer; his daughter Tammy St. Peter; his siblings, Diane Neetz and Roger Schauer; and his parents-in-law, John and Virginia Santy.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Santy of Joseph's Catholic Church; his children, Steve Schauer (Kristin), Sherry Hovey (Dan), Jenny Campbell (Ryan), Jill Schauer and Karen Gruenke (Jeff); his grandchildren, Justin St (Samantha), Savannah Zahn (Derek), Trevor St. Peter, Joseph, Renee, Rebecca, Jesse Schauer, Dylan, Alyssa Hovey, Brenna, Josie Campbell, Emma, Aiden Lusher, Cameron, Taylor and Sophie Gruenke; and his sisters, Patricia Dodge (Jim) and Donna Schauer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Port Washington Food Pantry.
