He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bortz and Emma Bortz (Graack); his wife Kathleen Kutzke; and his siblings, Arnold, Art, Howard, Fred, Ken, Kathleen, Lillian, Rose and Carol.
He is survived by: his sons, Chad, Josh, Greg, Michael Bortz (Liss), Daniel Bortz (Nita) and Tony Bortz (Diane); his grandchildren, Chad Bortz of Portage, Joshua Bortz of Portage, Amy Bortz (Joshua Ostmann) of Portage, Greg Bortz (Amanda) of Portage, Adam Bortz (Jayne) of Portage, Leslie Grimm (David) of Waunakee, Sarah Sandeen (Jeffrey Stumpf) of Prairie du Sac and Jon (Christie); his niece Jennie Blau (Charlie); and his sisters, Annie and Betty.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cornerstone Bible Church (1420 E Wisconsin St, Portage, WI 53901). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
