She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles R. Thornton and Vera Lois Thornton (Hume); and her sisters, Helen and Lois Thornton. She is survived by : her husband Jerry Brown; her sons, John Cimaroli (Dawn), Jeff Brown, Brandon Brown (Shannon) and Brad Brown; her grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Zack, Jessica, Aerial, Aaron, Braeden, Liam, Lachlan, McKenzie, Hunter and Savannah; and her siblings, George Thornton (Marge), Frank Thornton (Chris) and Judy Steffenhagen (Robert). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made for upkeep of the cemetery at Moundville United Methodist Church.
