She was predeceased by : her parents, Elmer Hickethier and Cecily Hickethier (Copet); her father-in-law Russell Maass; her stepfather-in-law Donald "Red" Hewitt; and her half-sister Donnelle Hewitt.

She is survived by : her husband Rick K. Maass; her sisters, Donna Purves (Lenard), Jean Hinze (Randy), Rita Maass (Scott), June Fredrick (Allen) and Lori Myhre (John); her mother-in-law Betty Hewitt; and her brothers-in-law, Greg Maass (Jeanne) and Keven Hewitt. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Memorials in Joyce's name may be given to the Portage United Methodist Church, The Greater Portage Youth Education Foundation, the Pardeeville Bulldog Support Foundation, or the Agrace Foundation.
