He is survived by: his children, Nancy Oyen (Dale), Diane Bennett (Alan), Robert Schiffman (Lisa), Roger Schiffman (Sadiya Alilire) and Lori Pond (Kevin); his grandchildren, Joseph Oyen (Lacy), Fatima Loeliger, Fatuma-Ayaan Rinderknecht and Koshan Schiffman; his great grandchildren, Jaxon and Amelia Oyen; his sister Vera Kruser (Gerald "Jerry"); and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Houtakker, Dolores Schiffman, Dorothy Chapman, Terry Bode and John "Jack" Pitzen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
